1. Who we are
EmmaStar is an astrology application for iPhone and iPad, operated by EmmaForge ("we", "us"). EmmaStar calculates your natal chart and generates personal readings based on the birth information you provide. This Privacy Policy applies to the EmmaStar mobile app and to this website (emmastar.app), which is a static informational site that itself collects no data, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics.
2. Information we process
To provide the app's functionality and personalize your experience, EmmaStar may process the following data:
Account information
- First name
- Email address
- User ID (an identifier assigned to your account)
Birth and chart information
- Birth date
- Birth time
- Birth place, including the location coordinates used to calculate your chart
- Natal chart data derived from the above
Readings and purchases
- Generated personalized readings
- Purchase history and entitlement information (which readings or features you have purchased)
3. How we use your information
We use the data above solely to operate EmmaStar:
- App functionality — to calculate and display your natal chart.
- Account access — to let you sign in and secure your account.
- Personalization — to tailor readings and content to your chart.
- Generating and saving readings — to create your personalized readings and keep them available to you.
- Purchase entitlement — to verify purchases and restore access to purchased readings on any of your devices.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. What we do not do
The current iOS build of EmmaStar does not use:
- Advertising tracking or cross-app tracking of any kind
- The IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers)
- Analytics pixels or usage-analytics SDKs
- Crash analytics services
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
- Advertising SDKs or ad networks
5. How your data is stored and shared
Your data is stored on secure servers operated by our infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we receive only the entitlement information needed to unlock what you bought, never your payment card details. We do not share your personal data with third parties except:
- Service providers that process data strictly on our behalf (such as cloud hosting), bound by data-processing agreements;
- Apple, as the payment and distribution platform for the app;
- Where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data, chart data, generated readings, and purchase entitlement records for as long as your account is active, so that your readings remain available and your purchases can be restored. When you delete your account, we delete the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal or tax obligations (for example, transaction records required by law).
7. Account and data deletion
You are in control of your data. You can delete your EmmaStar account and all associated personal data — including your profile, birth and chart data, and generated readings — in either of these ways:
- In the app: use the account deletion option in EmmaStar's settings.
- By email: write to hello@emmaforge.com from the email address linked to your account and ask us to delete your account and data.
We will confirm once deletion is complete. Please note that deleting your account also removes saved readings and access to purchased content; where possible we will help you restore purchases to a new account if you return.
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but protecting your information is a responsibility we take personally.
9. Children's privacy
EmmaStar is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from such children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@emmaforge.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above. For material changes, we will also notify you in the app.
